Frequently asked questionsEverything you need to know about epoxy floors: durability, installation, maintenance and finishes. Still have a question? Write to us.
The questions we’re asked most often before a first project.
Because it combines what you rarely get from a single coating: high resistance to impact, scratches, moisture and chemicals, a smooth, glossy showroom-worthy finish, and maintenance that comes down to a quick mop.
The price depends on three factors: the surface area, the condition of the slab and the chosen finish — solid color, flakes or metallic. Since every project is unique, we assess your surface for free and send you a clear, detailed estimate in under 24 hours, with no obligation.
Thickness and adhesion. Hardware-store epoxy paint goes on as a thin coat over a barely prepared slab: it often peels after one or two winters. Our professional systems, applied over a diamond-ground slab, form a coating several times thicker that bonds to the concrete for decades.
Most residential projects are completed in one to two working days, depending on the surface area and slab condition. Mechanical preparation and product curing time add to the schedule, which we confirm with your estimate.
Foot traffic is generally possible the day after installation. For heavier loads — parking a vehicle, moving equipment back in — allow 24 to 48 hours for the coating to reach full hardness.
Properly installed on a well-prepared slab, an epoxy floor keeps its integrity for decades. Surface preparation is the deciding factor — which is why we diamond-grind every slab before installation.

Texture, tones and how the color holds up over time.
Not when it’s designed well. Adding vinyl flakes or an anti-slip agent to the topcoat creates a safe texture, even when wet — a choice we recommend for garages, entrances and wet areas.
Three systems: solid color for a clean look, metallic for a unique hand-worked effect, and vinyl flakes for texture and character. See our Colors page for the full range of tones.
The two product families are complementary. Epoxy provides a thick, hard, self-leveling base; polyaspartic and urethane topcoats cure faster and resist UV better. Our systems combine the best of both: an epoxy base for strength, sealed with a UV-stable urethane topcoat.
Entry-level epoxies can yellow under UV rays. Our systems are protected by a UV-stable urethane topcoat that preserves the color and shine, even in very bright rooms or outdoor applications.
Wet rooms, odors, vehicles, Quebec winters, radiant heating: what the coating handles.
Yes. Interior projects — basements, kitchens, businesses — are done year-round. For a garage, the space simply needs to stay temperate during application and curing; we plan the work accordingly. Only exterior surfaces wait for the warm season.
Yes. The continuous, non-porous surface resists moisture, which makes it an excellent choice for wet rooms and basements. We do check the slab’s moisture level before installation and apply a moisture-blocking primer if needed.
We use low-VOC products: a slight odor may be present during application, but it dissipates quickly after drying. The home remains livable during the work.
No. Hot tire pickup is a typical failure of cheap paints applied without preparation. Thanks to diamond grinding and our professional products, the coating stays firmly anchored to the slab, summer and winter alike.
Yes — it’s one of its great strengths. Oil, gasoline, calcium and de-icing salt clean up without leaving a trace, and the surface easily supports the weight of vehicles and heavy equipment. Only highly corrosive products left on for a long time can affect it.
Yes. Epoxy pairs very well with radiant heating systems built into the slab: it conducts heat efficiently while keeping its stability.
Repairs, compatible surfaces and everyday maintenance.
Yes, localized repairs are possible. For a seamless match, a professional’s work is recommended — and if we installed the floor, your warranty covers adhesion defects.
On rigid, mineral surfaces: concrete first and foremost. Flexible materials like wood or vinyl aren’t suitable. In every case, the slab must be ground, repaired and perfectly dry before application — that’s our specialty.
Warm water and a mild, pH-neutral soap are enough. Just avoid abrasive cleaners and wax-based products, which can dull the finish over time.
